Dr. Radu Vidra is a medical oncologist and researcher based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu” in Cluj-Napoca in 2002. Currently, Dr. Vidra serves as a senior medical oncologist at the Regional Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology “Prof. Dr. Octavian Fodor” in Cluj-Napoca, where he is actively involved in both patient care and clinical research, particularly focusing on upper gastrointestinal cancers.
In June 2023, Dr. Vidra joined the UBBMed department at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca as a Level III Scientific Researcher, further contributing to academic and clinical research initiatives. Recently, he has also been appointed as a Scientific Researcher at the Medical University of Cluj-Napoca, strengthening his engagement in oncology research and education. He also holds the position of Chair of the ESMO Practising Oncologists Working Group and is a member of the ESMO Educational Committee, reflecting his commitment to advancing oncology education and practice.
Throughout his career, Dr. Vidra has been involved in numerous clinical trials and has contributed to various publications in the field of oncology. His research interests include the treatment and management of upper gastrointestinal malignancies, with a particular focus on integrating clinical practice with innovative research. His dedication to oncology is further demonstrated by his active participation in professional organizations and his ongoing efforts to enhance cancer care through research and education.
