He is currently working as a Professor of Oncology at the School of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo and the Head of the Oncology Division at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo.

During his career, he was actively included in scientific research work and along with his colleagues, in the capacity of the chief researcher, was included in over seventy international projects.  He is a member of several professional associations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He is the President of the Association of Oncologists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the scientific Committee of the Central European Cooperative Oncology Group as well as the ASCO Central and Eastern Europe Regional Council (CEERC)  

He is a member of the European School of Oncology Core faculty list.

He is the author and co-author of over one hundred articles published in relevant oncologic journals and a visiting lecturer at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan.

He is the leader of the project of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Health: “Guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of malignancies”.
